About Us

 

Established in 2009, Fat Fish Movies provides training in underwater videography and photography, we also produce quality underwater movies and photos for divers.  Fat Fish Movies is located in Sairee Village just a one minute walk from the beautiful Sairee Beach on Koh Tao, Thailand.

We offer your diving experience to be captured in video or in photos or both.  Whatever you choose you are getting a professionally made product that makes a fantastic souvenir for your friends and family to enjoy and your memories can be reopened for a lifetime.

We provide various underwater videography and photography courses to suit your needs, we also offer internships so you can perfect your skills and work doing what you love on this paradise island. 

2010 was a good year for Fat Fish Movies.  We won the Koh Tao Film Festival twice.  The movies have a conservation theme for 'Save Koh Tao' and can be seen in the 'underwater videography' section.

The Team

Charlie [Co-owner, Professional Underwater Videographer and Photographer, Instructor & Training coordinator] Arriving in Koh Tao in 2008, Charlie trained from Open Water to PADI and SSI instructor. Whilst doing his Divemaster training in early 2009 he did an underwater videography course and has been filming underwater ever since.  Originally intending to stay for only six months, Charlie fell in love with the island lifestyle and decided to stay and founded Fat Fish Movies.  In April 2010, Charlie won the Koh Tao Film Festival with his video for 'Save Koh Tao'.  He also enjoys underwater photography and some of his photos can be seen in the new edition of 'The Definitive Dive Guide Koh Tao'.

 

Cat [Co-owner & Professional Underwater Videographer & Training Coordinator] Originally from Belgium, Cat came to Koh Tao in 2007 on holiday and fell in love with the island and has lived here ever since. She decided to train as an underwater videographer and has enjoyed working for different companies on the island. In July 2010 she joined Fat Fish Movies as a co-owner. Cat loves what she does and enjoys injecting humor into her movies to offer a very personal souvenir to her customers.

      

 

The Office

The spacious office is located in Sairee Village just a one minute walk from Sairee beach which is convienient if you don't own a bike. It is equipped with three fast desktop PC's and a powerful laptop, a bathroom, fans, air con and a fridge.

 

 

The Cameras

 

Here's what we use to make your movies and photos and for your training. 

We have an Ikelite and Ocean Images housing for Sony HDR CX105 and Ikelite Pro-V8 lamp. Gates housings for Sony HDR-HC7 and DCR TC350E . For our photos we use a Canon G12 and Canon S95 with Ikelite housings, these housings have wideangle and macro lenses which can be changed underwater, the Ikelite DS51 strobe attached to the G12 housing with a TTL sync chord.
